Media Watch: Is it Patriarchal to Have My Husbands Children?

I’m very happily married to the love of my life, and we have been looking to start a family and bring a new person into the world. I know he will be a great dad, and we will both be good providers. But, if there is someone who has better quality genes, should I be forced to have his children if the future potential of my child is decided by genetics? As a feminist, we are talking about my rights and the rights of this future person, so should I be looking for someone who has better genes, to give my child the best chance in life, rather than just going along with this typical patriarchal system, where I have no choice?
